The Bitcoin system is the best known and most widely used alternative payment
scheme, but so far it was very difficult to get accurate information about how
it is used in practice. In this paper we describe a large number of statistical
properties of the Bitcoin transaction graph, which contains all the transactions
which were carried out by all the users until May 13 th 2012.

Lukasinpa paperin läpi. Eivät mielestäni saaneet kovin yllättäviä tuloksia. Eniten osoitteita omistaa Mt. Gox, eniten siirtoja tekee Deepbit jne.
Mielenkiintoista oli kuitenki se että noin 60% Bitcoineista makaa osoitteissa, joista ei ole koskaan tehty ulosmeneviä siirtoja. Ns. säästöpossuja

addresses which only receive and never send BTC’s, we see that their owners have
actually put aside in some kind of \saving accounts" 7,019,100 BTC’s, which are
almost 78% of all existing BTC’s. 59.7% of all the coins are \old coins" which
were received more than three month before the cut o date (May 13
th 2012), and still had not triggered any outgoing transactions. This means that there
are much fewer BTC’s in circulation than previously presumed.

Löysivät myös yhteyksiä eri osotteiden omistajien välillä, vaikka välissä oli kuitettu tehdä hajauttamista. Hajautukselle on varmaan voinut olla muutakin syitä kuin osoitteen välisten yhteyden salaaminen. Tuossa yhdessäkin casessa oli lopulta yhdistetty hajautetut bitcoinit 1000 BTC-siirtoina saman päivän aikana.[size=8pt][/size]
